Routaroo Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 9, 2026
Routaroo is a family quest and reward tracking app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
1. Who We Are
Routaroo is an independent, founder-led early-stage product. If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or want to request help with your data, contact us at [email protected].
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use Routaroo, we may collect the following information:
- Account information: email address, display name, and sign-in identifiers when you create an account or use Google sign-in.
- Family and profile information: family name, parent or guardian profile information, child profile names or nicknames, avatars, and related household settings that you choose to enter.
- Quest, task, and reward data: chores, habits, quests, approvals, star balances, reward records, and activity history created in the app.
- Subscription information: subscription status, product identifiers, purchase state, renewal state, and entitlement status. Payments are processed by Google Play and may be managed with RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your full credit card number.
- Device and technical information: app version, device type, operating system, language, error logs, and diagnostic information used to keep the app working reliably.
- Support communications: messages and information you send when contacting support.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve Routaroo.
- Create and manage your account and family workspace.
- Save quests, rewards, approvals, child profiles, and app preferences.
- Create evidence-grounded weekly summaries from aggregate habit activity when a parent requests that feature.
- Verify subscription status and unlock paid features.
- Prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, and keep the app secure.
- Respond to support requests and important service-related messages.
- Comply with legal, tax, platform, and policy obligations.
4. Google Sign-In
If you choose Google sign-in, Google may provide us with information such as your Google account email address, name, profile image, and authentication token. We use this information only to sign you in, create or locate your Routaroo account, and protect account access.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
Paid subscriptions are processed through Google Play. Google Play handles payment details, billing, refunds, receipts, and payment security. Routaroo may use RevenueCat to validate purchases and manage subscription entitlements. We receive subscription-related records such as product ID, purchase status, entitlement status, renewal status, and timestamps, but we do not receive your full payment card details.
6. Children and Family Use
Routaroo is designed to help parents and guardians manage family quests and rewards. A parent or guardian should create and manage the family account. If child profile information is entered, it should be provided and managed by the parent or guardian. We do not knowingly ask children to create independent accounts or provide contact information directly to us.
If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate parental consent, contact us at [email protected] and we will review and delete the information where required.
7. Sharing Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with:
- Service providers: vendors that help us provide hosting, authentication, payment validation, diagnostics, customer support, and app infrastructure.
- DigitalOcean Inference: aggregate habit signals may be processed to draft weekly summaries. Routaroo is designed to avoid sending child email addresses or full legal names in these requests.
- Google Play and RevenueCat: for subscription purchase processing, validation, entitlement management, fraud prevention, and support.
- Legal and safety purposes: when required by law, platform policy, court order, or to protect users, the app, or others from harm or abuse.
8. Data Retention
We keep account, family, quest, reward, and subscription-related information for as long as needed to provide the app, maintain accurate records, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and support account recovery. We may retain limited records after account deletion when required for legal, security, tax, fraud prevention, or audit purposes.
9. Your Choices and Rights
You may request help with:
- Accessing or correcting account information.
- Deleting your account or family data.
- Asking questions about subscription status or data handling.
- Withdrawing consent where applicable.
To make a request, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International Use
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we take steps intended to protect your information in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Routaroo after an update means you acknowledge the updated policy.
